Development of the North Minahasa Regency Consumer Price Index May 2024

Abstract

In May 2024, year on year (y-on-y) inflation in North Minahasa Regency will be 6.22 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 108.57.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in seven expenditure group indices, namely: food, beverage and tobacco group by 11.38 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.19 percent; health group by 0.65 percent; transportation group by 1.27 percent; education group at 0.26 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 12.01 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 5.06 percent. Four other expenditure group indices experienced a decline, namely: the clothing and footwear group by 1.86 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.36 percent; information, communication and financial services group at 0.15 percent; and the recreation, sports and culture group at 0.17 percent.

The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate for North Minahasa Regency in May 2024 was 0.88 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) deflation rate was 1.83 percent.
